We did the most amazing trip the other day. We took the subway to Brooklyn, which goes underwater! Our friend Eileen, told us to have lunch at this famous pizza place. It’s called Grimaldi’s and it was so good! My dad said it might be the best pizza ever! I had a root beer there and it was better than amazing, it was out of this world! It came in a glass bottle with a picture of the bridge on it. I saved it to bring back to California. After lunch, we walked across the bridge. It was a mile long. One interesting thing I learned was people were afraid to cross the suspension bridge* when it first opened. P.T. Barnum walked 21 elephants across the bridge to prove it was safe! Hope you keep reading!

*note from Mommy….the Brooklyn Bridge was the first steel suspension bridge in the world. It is supported by 4 steel cables, each 3,579 ft long, support the span the of the bridge. It was built between 1870 and 1883 to connect the two major cities of Brooklyn and Manhattan.
