Kenia in the Middle

Another day down in Puerto Rico! Today was a very calm yet exciting day (I know that makes no sense). Today I went on my run and rushed to get ready for volunteering. We worked in the garden again today just doing simple watering and planting because of how hot it was there wasn’t much to do rather than try to keep the plants as hydrated as possible. After volunteering, as always Belle and I headed to the beach for a bit, it’s been so great having her here especially because we clicked immediately! Today was the day that I told her I’d finally sit down and watch Holes the old Disney movie from the 2000’s I believe. Multiple people have tried to get me to watch this forever but I was finally convinced. It’s about kids that get sent away to a camp for being bad or committing some sort of crime and everyday they’re forced to dig holes supposedly looking for something but they don’t know what. It sounded boring at first but I actually loved it. After the movie we really wanted to try this place on the street called La Prena which in Spanish means pregnant so the logo is a pregnant woman which is pretty funny. They sell arepas and on Thursday specifically they do a 2 for 1 mojito happy hour so we decided obviously we’d go today. It’s definitely a new favorite spot! Such good prices, they were so good, and mojitos are definitely a must! I did in fact spill about 3/4ths of mine all over my pants though…. not my proudest moment. We headed back to the hostel after dinner and found the board game sorry in the common area so we sat down and finished our night with that. 10/10 day 🙂
